Mind & Soul Radio 2-year Anniversary Celebration

January 12, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Malcolm X Memorial Foundation

We’ve been on for 2 years!

Even though 2 years seemed like they zoomed by, we still can’t help feeling the weight of the struggle of building a community radio station. But that only causes us to want to do some serious celebrating and we want you to join us.

2 years old. The station is still just a baby.

Saturday January 12th 2019 will be the date when we gather together at the station, located in the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation building, and take the time to thank you for being a part of this movement.

It still blows our minds when we run into people who tell us they are listening. We’ve watched it blow up over the last 2 years. There is a very specific way we’ve gotten thousands of people to tune in and participate in the discussion.

First, we saw that Omaha needed some grown folks music. So we started playing Hip Hop and R&B from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.  We started playing Funk from the 70’s and slow jams after dark. We even started playing new music that sounded like classic music. We wanted to make sure that most forms of Black music were being represented.

Then, we worked on making our local talk shows and live shows more compelling. We decided to be the only station in Omaha that takes live call-ins.  We really wanted to speak directly to the people and start a real conversation in our community.

Then we added the news factor in order to become the premier Black news source of Omaha and the surrounding areas. And thanks to all of you, our voice is taking hold.
We reached out to you, the community of listeners and partners, and asked you to support our efforts. We truly thank all of you that have chosen to do that.

But we’ve really only just begun.  We are still a very new business, and still need support. But we are growing fast. We have so much in store for 2019 it will make your head spin. Stay Tuned.

The Core Crew

Shout out to this core crew who shows up everyday, totally dedicated to building this station for our community.
Michael Scott, Myself (Paul B.) Dalamar McTizic (Black Xcellence), Mark McGaugh (Buddi3 da Gawd) and laid up on everyone, the incomparable, Michelle Troxclair. And shout out to the B Side of the Benson Theater for your partnership.

Partnership with NOISE

North Omaha Information Support Everyone is now partnered with Mind and Soul 101.3 FM in order to focus on our local community. We want to find out what you want to know about. And we are working on telling our own stories instead of depending on news groups who are not as familiar with our community. We will harness the power of media, tell the truth, and bring the Noise.
